Amphora Table Lamp
2021
School assignment
Material Fabrication final assignment
Materials used:
Lamp shade - Peanut shells, PVA glue, wate and metal wire
Lamp base - Peanut shells, cardboard, PVA glue, water and green food dye
Others - White light bulb

Lamp base was made of
- Blended peanut shells
- Blended cardboard pieces
- Green food dye
- PVA glue
- Water
After mixing everything together, it was shaped into a 4cm thick disc with a concave top surface.
After drying, a thin concave slit was made from the center of the base. This is meant for the light bulb cable to stay in place.

Lamp shade was made of
- Blended peanut shells of varying sizes (powder and chips)
- PVA glue
- Water
After mixing everything together, it was poured on baking paper. Spread the mixture out evenly and place another piece of baking paper on top to prevent direct heat.
Place it in the oven at 200°C for 20 minutes. Repeat this whole process until enough squares can be made.
A metal wire structure was made beforehand and joined with super glue.
Cut the baked mixtures into 8x8cm squares, overlap them and stick them onto the metal structure.

Cut a small hole in the middle of the bottom of the lamp shade and put the light bulb cable through it.
Get another piece of metal wire, coil it around the bottom of the light bulb and stick it to the bottom of the lamp shade. This creates a floating light bulb effect.

End.
